🔧 How to Assemble Your Felix the Fox Doll
Follow these steps carefully to ensure a balanced, high-quality finish:
- Secure the Eyes: Ensure your 18mm safety eyes are locked tightly with their white backings at Rnd 11 before closing the head structure.
- Face Details & Expression: Using dark brown embroidery thread, embroider gentle, sleepy-style downward curved eyelashes right at the outer edge of the safety eyes. Stitch a small, horizontal triangle for the nose centered between the eyes. Add a tiny upward-curved line directly below the nose for a gentle smile.
- Cheek Blush: Take a tiny amount of soft pink yarn or cosmetic blush and apply a delicate rosy circle just below each eye on the white cheek section.
- Attach Head to Body: Using a clean mattress stitch, connect the open neck edge of the body to the base of the head. Keep stitches tight so the head does not wobble.
- Position the Ears: Sew the assembled ears securely between Rnds 4 and 8 on top of the head, tilting them slightly forward.
- Affix the Limbs: Sew the flattened tops of the arms symmetrically to the sides of the neck joint. Attach the legs side-by-side to the bottom-front surface of the body so Felix sits down completely level without tipping over.
- Tail Placement: Position the tail at the back center of the body, just low enough to touch the surface when sitting, acts as a stabilizer tripod.
- Dress & Embellish: Slip the Mint Romper onto the doll body. Use white embroidery thread to make tiny vertical “French knot” seed shapes all across the front panel or pocket of the romper. Sew two tiny red buttons onto the front bib where the straps meet.
- Final Styling: Drape the Strawberry Crossbody Bag over Felix’s shoulder, angle the Mint Beret over one ear, and arrange the little watering can and loose miniature strawberries right beside him for a gorgeous display.
