A warm welcome back to the studio, my dear creator. There is a specific kind of magic that occurs when we pair the luxurious, tactile nature of velvet yarn with a structured, thoughtful design. Today, we are not simply making a toy; we are constructing a centerpiece. Clementine is a testament to how proportion and texture work in harmony to create something that feels truly alive. By presenting her in this artisan bucket, we elevate the amigurumi from a solitary figure to a full-fledged presentation. Let us pick up our hooks and begin this journey together.
About This Creation
Clementine represents the peak of the “Krocheta” style. Her design relies on the Baby Schema—a deliberate exaggeration of the head and a softening of the limbs to evoke an immediate emotional response. By using velvet yarn, we amplify this effect, as the fibers catch the light and provide a plushness that standard cotton cannot match. This bucket presentation is designed to be a lasting gift, merging the longevity of crochet with a quaint, rustic charm.

The Pattern
Clementine’s Head
➡️ Note: Use white yarn. Incorporate yellow yarn for spots where desired by switching colors in the last loop of the previous stitch.
➡️ Round 1: Start with 6 sc in a magic ring (6)
➡️ Round 2: [inc] x 6 (12)
➡️ Round 3: [1 sc, inc] x 6 (18)
➡️ Round 4: [2 sc, inc] x 6 (24) Wait, my apologies. Round 4 must be correct. Let us rethink that mathematical step. (6 + 6 increases is 12. 12 + 6 is 18. 18 + 6 is 24.) The math holds.
➡️ Round 5: [3 sc, inc] x 6 (30)
➡️ Round 6: [4 sc, inc] x 6 (36)
➡️ Round 7-10: 36 sc (36)
➡️ Round 11 (Cheek Shaping): 10 sc, [inc, 1 sc] x 3, 4 sc, [1 sc, inc] x 3, 10 sc (42)
➡️ Round 12-15: 42 sc (42)
➡️ Round 16 (Gaze Alignment): 12 sc, dec, 14 sc, dec, 12 sc (40)
➡️ Note: Insert 12mm safety eyes between Rounds 13 and 14, approximately 9 stitches apart. Ensure they sit just above the cheek increases.
➡️ Round 17: [3 sc, dec] x 8 (32)
➡️ Round 18: [2 sc, dec] x 8 (24)
➡️ Round 19: [1 sc, dec] x 8 (16)
➡️ Round 20: [dec] x 8 (8)
✨ Fasten off and leave a long tail for sewing.
Clementine’s Body (Integrated Overalls)
➡️ Note: Start with yellow yarn to create the base of the overalls.
➡️ Round 1: Start with 6 sc in a magic ring (6)
➡️ Round 2: [inc] x 6 (12)
➡️ Round 3: [1 sc, inc] x 6 (18)
➡️ Round 4: [2 sc, inc] x 6 (24)
➡️ Round 5: [3 sc, inc] x 6 (30)
➡️ Round 6-9: 30 sc (30)
➡️ Round 10: Change to white yarn. [3 sc, dec] x 6 (24)
➡️ Round 11: [2 sc, dec] x 6 (18)
➡️ Round 12: 18 sc (18)
✨ Fasten off. For the overalls bib: Join yellow yarn to the front of Round 10. Crochet 6 sc, ch 1, turn. 6 sc. Fasten off. Attach two chains of 10 from the back of the body to the bib for straps.
The Snout
➡️ Note: Use powder pink yarn.
➡️ Round 1: Ch 5. Starting in 2nd ch from hook: 3 sc, 3 sc in the last ch. Turn to work on other side of chain: 2 sc, inc in the final st (10)
➡️ Round 2: inc, 2 sc, [inc] x 3, 2 sc, [inc] x 2 (16)
➡️ Round 3: 16 sc (16)
✨ Fasten off.
Limbs (Make 2 Arms)
➡️ Note: Use white yarn.
➡️ Round 1: 6 sc in a magic ring (6)
➡️ Round 2: [1 sc, inc] x 3 (9)
➡️ Round 3-6: 9 sc (9)
✨ Fasten off. No stuffing is required for these small limbs.
Assembly
🪡 Face: Sew the snout between Rounds 14 and 18 of the head, centering it between the eyes. Embroider two small nostrils in a darker pink or black.
🪡 Body: Sew the head firmly to the body at Round 12. Ensure the bib of the overalls is centered with the face.
🪡 Limbs: Attach the arms at the sides of the body, just below the neck line (Round 11).
🪡 Presentation: Place Clementine into your chosen bucket. You may wish to use a small amount of stuffing or a round crochet ‘base’ at the bottom of the bucket to help her sit upright and centered.
