Crochet Bunny Glasses Holder

Welcome back, yarn friends! If you are anything like me, you are constantly setting your glasses down and then spending way too much time hunting for them. That is why I am so excited to share this adorable and practical project with you: the Crochet Bunny Glasses Holder!

This charming little bunny does double duty as a playful piece of home decor for your nightstand or desk and a safe, cozy resting spot for your favorite specs. It is quick to work up, makes a fantastic handmade gift, and best of all, keeps your lenses scratch-free!

Materials & Tools Needed

  • Yarn: Medium worsted-weight (Category 4) yarn in your favorite bunny color (about 50-75 yards), plus a small scrap of pink for the nose.
  • Crochet Hook: Size US G/6 (4.0mm)—or one size smaller than recommended for your yarn to ensure nice, tight stitches that hold their shape.
  • Notions: Yarn needle, stitch markers, and fiberfill stuffing.
  • Optional: Small safety eyes or embroidery floss for the facial features.

Abbreviations & Pattern Notes

  • US Terms
  • ch: chain
  • sc: single crochet
  • inc: single crochet 2 in the same stitch (increase)
  • dec: single crochet 2 stitches together (decrease)
  • sl st: slip stitch
  • st(s): stitch(es)
  • Note: Work in continuous rounds unless otherwise stated. Use a stitch marker to keep track of the beginning of each round.

Step-by-Step Pattern Instructions

  1. The Base and Body: With your main yarn, make a magic ring and work 6 sc into the ring (6 sts). Round 2: Work 2 sc in each st around (12 sts). Round 3: [1 sc, inc] 6 times (18 sts). Round 4: [2 sc, inc] 6 times (24 sts). Rounds 5–12: Sc in each st around (24 sts). This creates a sturdy cylinder to support your glasses. Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.
  2. The Bunny Ears (Make 2): With main yarn, ch 7. Starting in the 2nd ch from the hook, work 1 sc, 1 hdc, 2 dc, 1 hdc, (1 sc, ch 1, 1 sc) all in the last ch. Working down the opposite side of the chain, mirror your stitches: 1 hdc, 2 dc, 1 hdc, 1 sc. Sl st to join, and fasten off, leaving a long tail for attaching.
  3. Facial Details: Before stuffing, embroider a cute sleepy or smiling face on the front of the body using your embroidery floss or yarn. Sew the pink nose right between the eyes.
  4. Assembly & Stuffing: Lightly stuff the body with fiberfill so it has enough firmness to stand upright and support the weight of glasses without bulging too much. Sew the top closed securely. Position and sew the bunny ears firmly to the top of the head.

Finishing & Helpful Tips

  • Maintain Tight Tension: Keep your stitches nice and firm so the holder keeps its structure and securely cradles the bridge of your glasses.
  • Secure Your Ends: Weave in all yarn tails securely inside the body so nothing pokes out or snags your frames.
  • Test the Fit: Rest your glasses across the bunny’s face before final assembly to ensure the proportions look just right and the frames sit comfortably.
  • Customize the Look: Feel free to add a cute little crocheted bow or change up the ear colors to match your seasonal decor!
