Sleeping Baby Boy & Bunny Amigurumi Crochet Pattern

Welcome back to the atelier. It is a joy to gather our tools once more. You have selected a magnificent design, one that requires patience but rewards you with a true work of art. Today, we focus heavily on architectural crochet—manipulating stitches to create organic, human-like curves rather than stiff cylinders.

About This Creation

This piece is an exercise in mastering the Baby Schema. We achieve the undeniable innocence of youth by carefully maintaining a 60/40 ratio between the head and the body. You will notice the face features specialized, concentrated increases across the lower hemisphere to build robust, rounded cheeks. The eyes are embroidered extremely low and set far apart, securing that peaceful, sleeping expression. Even the garments are crafted to drape organically over the doll’s sculpted knees and elbows.

Assembly and Final Polish

The moment of truth has arrived. Precision is everything here.

➡️ Begin by securing the head to the body. Ensure the cheeks face forward.

➡️ Attach the ears exactly between Rounds 15 and 17 of the head, counting from the top down.

➡️ Position the hair base onto the head, tilting it slightly backward. Sew firmly into place.

➡️ Using Black embroidery thread, stitch the resting eyes between Rounds 16 and 17, placing them low near the swell of the cheeks, exactly 9 stitches apart. Add a delicate curve for the nose between the eyes, and a soft red line for the sleeping mouth. Apply a touch of rose blush below the eyes.

➡️ Dress the body in the shorts. Sew the arms to the top sides of the body, just below the neck. Dress the doll in the pajama top, overlapping the front panels slightly, and secure them with a hidden stitch. Put the booties on the feet and sew the legs to the base of the body.

➡️ Assemble the bunny by attaching the body to the head, the muzzle to the center of the face, and the ears to the top. Embroider two tiny black eyes and a brown nose. Sew the tiny limbs to the bunny’s body.

➡️ Place the sleeping cap onto the doll’s head and let the tip drape gracefully. Finally, position the tiny bunny into the doll’s folded arms and secure it with a few hidden stitches so they rest together perfectly.
