Today, we focus on the subtle geometry of the “Baby Schema.” To capture the essence of youth and softness, we must move beyond simple spheres. We will manipulate our stitch placement to create localized volume, specifically in the lower facial region. This provides a structural shelf for the eyes, ensuring that signature “gaze of innocence” that defines a premium piece. Let us pick up our hooks and work with intention.
About This Creation
This project features a pair of coordinated ducklings designed for maximum tactile appeal. We use super bulky chenille to ensure the shapes remain rounded and plump. By focusing on a large head-to-body ratio, we create a figure that feels grounded and substantial despite its small stature.

The Pattern: Bow Tie (Duckling B)

Assembly
✨ 1. Secure the Head to the Body using the remaining yarn tail. Ensure the neck is stuffed firmly to prevent drooping.
✨ 2. Position the Beak centered between the eyes at Round 15.
✨ 3. Attach the Wings to the sides of the body at Round 9, angled slightly backward.
✨ 4. Sew the Feet to the bottom of the body at Round 3, spaced 3 stitches apart for stability.
✨ 5. Embroider small pink circles for the blush or use a small amount of cosmetic rouge.
✨ 6. Affix the accessories—the headband for one, the bow tie for the other—at the neck or head.
