Autumn Dragon Amigurumi Pattern: Elderberry the Witchy Guardian

A warm hello to you, my fellow artisan. It is a joy to have you here in the atelier today. We are about to embark on a journey of structure and softness as we bring Elderberry to life. This dragon represents the quiet magic of the changing seasons. I have designed this pattern with a heavy focus on the “Baby Schema” that makes our Krocheta designs so beloved. By keeping the head large and the eyes low, we evoke a sense of pure innocence. Let us pick up our hooks and begin this soulful work together.

About This Creation

Elderberry is not a simple toy. This dragon is a masterclass in asymmetrical shaping. We will use specific increase clusters to form the muzzle and cheeks without needing to sew on extra pieces. The result is a seamless, organic look that feels alive. This project is ideal for those who value technical precision and the plush, heavy feel of premium chenille yarn.

Assembly

🪡 Step 1: Secure the head to the body. Ensure the snout (the area with the increases) is facing forward.

🪡 Step 2: Attach the back legs to the sides of the body at Round 5. Sew the front legs vertically between the back legs for a stable base.

🪡 Step 3: Attach the tail to the back center of the body. Ensure the flat spade tip rests on the ground.

🪡 Step 4: Sew the wings to the back, angled slightly upward.

🪡 Step 5: Place the witch hat on the head, tilted slightly back. Secure with a few hidden stitches.

🪡 Step 6: Attach one miniature ghost and one pumpkin to the hat’s brim. Place the second set on the tail’s flat spade tip.

🪡 Step 7: Embroider small nostrils and a gentle smile using a darker brown thread to complete the expression.
